I asked a price of re-chroming. Wasn´t cheap, 90e à case, 180e total. No thanks.

Luckily ebay helps me: i bought "Asia-made" rear shocks, and price was 60e/pair with shipping. Much cheaper way to purchase those cases  .

sure, but what about quality?? "asian" means not right the same as "china" but for this price i think the quality is not as good as the original parts!

Of course, it is clear that the quality is not so good, but if we think that part, it´s size and purpose, a "small dip" in the quality are excusable. At least i think so :D .

Don´t get me wrong, but , i don´t want pay almost 200e euros for two such as small and-not-so-important part.

Ok, rebuilted honda st 70E 3 gear engine. 1st gear goes in, when you pull up change pedal. If you want put 2nd gear in, you must push TWICE change pedal down. It you push it once, it goes to neutral. Where´s the problem :ärger: (i think that is not normal)? 3rd goes in smoothly without any problems.

thats normal...in german engines where these transmission standard.
only 12V engine or the CT70's got N-1-2-3

ST70 has often the 1-N-2-3 transmission - but you can't switch over the N with one pedal down.

sorry, english is a long time ago for me

After 5 years; hello everybody!

My Dax restoration are now almost finished (well, i already finished it once and drove couple years, but i did it again, thanks to weak paintjob....).
I'm still strugglin whit same problem as 5 yrs ago; i don't know anything about my Honda's model history, and now at this year when i try to get it through museum inspection, i only can guess and try to proof that my honda are at same condition as it was back in 70's. I've been tried and tried to find somekind of colour or black/white pictures about my honda, but i haven't find any. Beacause it is a German model, i ask for you, my German fellows for help. In registeration licence my Honda model are ST70G, and year of manufacturing are 1973. Frame number are still ST70-124342. You guys already gave me good information, but pictures, articles, your own information etc are still very welcome. Thanks!

Hi,
At first schow us some pictures.
Concerning the frame No. 124xxx I guesss you are wrong.
The German ST70 modells of 1973 have had Motor-No. 123 / 4xxx
and
Frame Nos. 143xxx.

What kind of pictures you mean? :)

This picture are from honda part list 1972. No sing of winkers, round tail light, middle stand and low exhaust. There is also a list of frame numbers. Accordin of this 1972 frame numbers list, i doubt that my dax is older than 1973 wich is marked in registration document.

I can put a few pictures of my dax little bit later.

Hello again! Are there any possibility to find out former owners of my DAX in germany? It has been brought to finland at 2008, and i can see it's history only since 2008 (from Trafi, finnish transportation safety agency). I have it's German registration number.

Ok. Well, No-can-do, but that's weird. Owner history are normally public information here in finland (it cost's a few euros, and it's usual to check it before you're buying used car or motorcycle etc), and i believed that it's same in germany :pale:
